500th TAVR and Counting

In 2012, we were one of the first medical centers in the country to perform transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). This minimally invasive procedure uses a catheter to implant an artificial heart valve in patients with severe aortic stenosis. Last year, we did our 500th TAVR—an important milestone since research shows the link between experience and better patient outcomes.
